For eight years the USDA Coalition of Minority Employees has attempted to engage Secretary Vilsack, to no avail. For eight years Secretary Vilsack failed to address the issues of sexual harassment, sexual assault, work place violence, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in any meaningful way, and other than a besmirch upon his reputation of turning "The People's Department" to the often used title, "The Last Plantation" he is unaccountable for it. Our only hope now is that with the new administration the USDA will receive a Secretary like Sally Jewell, one more inclined to be transparent and to take action.
