    Melissa,

Last week, over 80,000 Social Security Works members joined with U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders to demand that the Millionaire Class begin paying their fair share into Social Security.

Social Security Champion Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has a message for you about our campaign and what's next in our fight to protect and expand Social Security. Watch it now and join him!

Bernie says: We need to make sure of two things: One is that our Republican colleagues do not cut Social Security, and two is that we fight as hard as we can to expand social security benefits. And the way you do that is by lifting the cap on taxable income, and in my view, starting at $250,000 dollars. If you do that you can create a situation where millionaires begin paying their fair share of contributions into the Social Security trust fund. We can extend the program not just for 18 years but for decades beyond that, and we can expand the benefits that our beneficiaries receive.

Right now there is a coordinated attack underway in Washington to destroy Social Security benefits. Republicans and their Wall Street backers are attempting to divide the American people over who should receive Social Security, going as far as to demonize Americans living with disabilities.

Currently, 94% of wage earners in America pay into Social Security on all of their earnings, but the top 6% do not. This is because only the first $118,500 of a wage earner's income is subject to the payroll tax that funds Social Security.

Together we're making sure that our message of expansion is drowning out the Republican message of cuts and privatization. And with Social Security Champions Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Sherrod Brown fighting for us in the U.S. Senate, we're exposing the Wall Street lies and bringing more members of Congress on board every day.

Watch Senator Bernie Sanders' message for Social Security Works members and take action today to continue fueling our efforts to expand, not cut Social Security!

Thank you for all that you do.
