Melissa,

Last year, President Obama put a Social Security cut called the Chained CPI in his budget.

A lot has happened since then. Americans from all political stripes are calling for Social Security to be expanded—not cut. The question is: will President Obama listen?

Sign our petition to President Obama: No cuts to our earned Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits in your budget or State of the Union address.

We will join our voices with Sen. Bernie Sanders who said, "I certainly hope that the president has learned a lesson from this whole process. To be honest with you, I just can't imagine what staff people gave him the disastrous advice to propose a chain CPI, which from both a public policy point of view and political point of view is totally absurd."

We need to speak up with one voice and tell President Obama: No cuts to our earned Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits in your budget or State of the Union address.

We agree with Sen. Tom Harkin who said, "He should recognize [the chained CPI] was a mistake. It should not be in his budget at all."

The State of the Union address will be January 28th, and the President will preview his agenda for this year—an agenda to which he'll attach dollar values in his budget.

We can win this if we speak with one voice. Sign our petition to President Obama: No cuts to Security, Medicare or Medicaid!

Thank you,

Michael Phelan
