First Edition of the Champions Tour Sponsored by Humps N' Horns set for March 10th in Stephenville, Texas will payout $70,000
89 bulls will compete in 4 classes with each class paying $10,000 to win!
Orchard, Texas (March 5, 2012) – Before the first chute gate swings open on Saturday, March 10th at the 4C's Arena in Stephenville, Texas, the inaugural event in the 2012 Champions Tour can be labeled a success. A large pen of futurity and derby bulls will be competing for high payouts.
Billy Jaynes, CEO of Exclusive Genetics and The Jaynes Gang is excited, "I'm extremely happy. The 4C's has 95 pens and we're filling 89 of them. It's also gratifying to see so many top stock contractors competing with their bulls in our open classes."
Four classes will buck with each class paying $10,000 to win.
The 2012 Million Dollar Bucking Bull Futurity (MDBBF) Only Class has 27 bulls competing and will pay 5 places. The Open Futurity class has 28 bulls and will also pay 5 places.
The 2011 MDBBF Derby Class (bulls who competed in the 2011 MDBBF) will have 18 bulls bucking paying two places. The Open Derby class has 22 entries that will pay 4 monies.
In the MDBFF Derby, the Bill Dase and Lonna Van Meter owned 2011 MDBBF Champion OMG will make his first start with a rider along with Dagger who was the Reserve Champion.
Exclusive Genetics is also introducing its new Bonus Bull Points program to the Open Derby where a bull can earn up to an additional 3 points on his judge's score if he is ridden for 8 seconds.
Billy Jaynes commented on the Bonus Bull Points, "I have worked on a new concept to make sure that good bulls win based on the length of time we get to see them. I believe by trying new things positive change will come that assure stock contractors and owners that the best Derby bull wins."
The Bonus Bull Points come if a bull scores 86.5 or higher from the judges. If that score is reached bonus points will be awarded with 1 point given if the rider stays on for 2.01-4 seconds, 2 points for 4.01 to 6 seconds and 3 points for 6.01 to 8 seconds.
Each owner can create their ultimate destiny by bringing their own rider who cangain the bonus points if the bull scores 86.5 or above.
Exciting events are planned for the March 10th Champions Tour event. A Friday night social, Saturday crawfish boil, Bull Bingo for Pistol – with the chance to win a 2015 MDBBF calf to help benefit the recovery of bull rider Pistol Robinson, the More Bang for your Bucks Bucking Stock Sale and special VIP seating will all add to the weekend of fun and outstanding competition planned.
