Stop the war on workers in Indiana. Fight back at the Statehouse on Friday. Dear Melissa, Republicans in Indiana are on the verge of passing a radical anti-worker bill that is potentially more far-reaching than even Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has been able to pass in his anti-union crusade. The so called "right to work" bill being pushed by Republicans is a direct attack on unions that is intended to break the back of organized labor in our state. And it's not just going to affect union workers. There is evidence that shows this legislation would result in lower wages for all workers in Indiana.1 Don't let Indiana become the next Wisconsin. Show up and personally lobby your representative in the Statehouse to reject the anti-worker attack this Friday in Indianapolis. What: Indiana labor's lobby day against the radical anti-worker bill When: Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Where: The Statehouse in Indianapolis Click here for more information from the Indiana State AFL-CIO and to RSVP. Although some Democrats in the Statehouse have resumed their legislative boycott in an attempt to delay a vote on the legislation, the Republican-controlled chamber could still vote on this radical bill as early as next week. Republicans know that this bill will be incredibly unpopular with voters — so they're trying to quickly pass it through the legislature without giving citizens of Indiana a chance to weigh in. On the eve of the Super Bowl, even the NFL Players Union has joined the fight against this anti-worker bill. We need as many Indiana voters as possible to show up at the Statehouse on Friday when our allies in the labor movement have organized a day of lobbying. Your visit can help convince Democrats to take a strong stand against this war on workers and will show Republicans that they will face a massive backlash if they vote for this bill. No matter where your representative currently stands, he or she needs to hear that Hoosiers vehemently oppose any "right to work" legislation — so we need to make sure that every representative hears from Indiana voters urging them to vote against this bill. Because there is such a short window of time to act, it is incredibly important that you stand up against this legislation now. Join our friends in the labor movement who are organizing opponents of this anti-worker bill to participate in a lobby day at the Statehouse, where Indiana voters like you will have the opportunity to talk to their representative and staffers and urge them to protect the rights of workers. You can click here for more information and to RSVP for the lobby day. Thank you for working to protect workers in Indiana. Ben Benjamin, Campaign Manager CREDO Action from Working Assets P.S. I was born and raised in Indiana. This fight is personal. I hope you join our friends in the labor movement at the Statehouse this Friday. 1.
