Today is a joyous day! We just found out that two of the CDs my friends and I have worked on have received a total of 5 NAMA nominations! Thank you to everyone that voted to get them nominated! We truly appreciate it!

The CD, "My Life Is My Sun Dance: Prison Writings of Leonard Peltier" has been nominated for Best Historical Linguistic and Best Spoken Word recordings. The CD features readings of Peltier's words, by best-selling author and former National Geographic writer/editor of 23 years, Harvey Arden, with musical accompaniment by Rev. Goat Carson & the New Orleans Light.

The CD, "Noble Red Man: Lakota Wisdomkeeper Mathew King" has also been nominated for Best Historical Linguistic and Best Spoken Word recording. It too consists of readings by Harvey Arden, with musical accompaniment by Jeff Foreman and David Lee.

Harvey Arden is also up for nomination for the "Native Heart" award for the "Noble Red Man" CD. This project is one of many projects that Harvey has dedicated himself to, in order to share the stories, lives, history, and messages of the Native & Indigenous People, worldwide. For those unfamiliar with Harvey Arden, here is just a short list of the projects he has been involved with, relating to his life-long dedication to working with Native American Indians:

* National Geographic Staff Writer for 23 years (various feature articles) * Wisdomkeepers: Meetings w/ Native American Spiritual Elders (author) * Dreamkeepers: A Spirit-Journey into Aboriginal Australia (author) * Noble Red Man: Lakota Wisdomkeeper Mathew King (author) * Travels in a Stone Canoe: The Return to the Wisdomkeepers (author) * Prison Writings: My Life is My Sun Dance by Leonard Peltier (editor) * Have You Thought of Leonard Peltier Lately? (author) * White Buffalo Teachings by Arvol Looking Horse (editor) * Voice of the Hawk Ekder by Edna Gordon (editor) * Noble Red Man: Lakota Wisdomkeeper, Mathew King (reading) * My life Is My Sun Dance: Prison Writings of Leonard Peltier (reading)
