Editor's Query: Tell us about a time when you were able to 'pay it forward'
By
Generally, I'm not the kind of person who actively heads out to pay it forward. I'd like to believe I'm a good person, but it's a vague sensation, not a mission. As it happened, I found myself one spring morning about three years ago hauling boxes of Girl Scout cookies into the local homeless shelter. I can attest to the fact that it was hardly the most comfortable sensation, wondering just how poorly the homeless people were thinking of the rich as we began to awkwardly attempt conversation.
